My Story
I spent two decades working in critical care, case management, and as a patient advocate. But it wasn’t until I faced my own journey through chronic illness, trauma, and long-term use of psychotropic medications that I fully encountered the limitations of conventional medicine and discovered the benefits of holistic healing.
In 2023, I began my own personal journey with psych med weaning after 12 years of use. With the support of plant and psychedelic medicine education, intentional nutrition, nervous system regulation practices, and deep inner reflection, I began to reconnect with myself and my health in a way I had never experienced before.
Why SolumRoot Exists
SolumRoot was created to offer what I once searched for: reliable, evidence-based education on navigating the intersection of cannabis, psychedelics, and wellness. I provide consultation and support for individuals exploring psychotropic medication discontinuation under the guidance of their medical provider, as well as education for clinics, dispensaries, and health professionals seeking to expand their knowledge base on the benefits of plant medicines.

Monica Allen, RN, CCM
· 20+ years nursing experience
· Background in critical care, chronic health condition, and case management
· Specializing in holistic health education, cannabis consulting, and psychotropic weaning support
· Experienced in psychedelic integration through personal healing and extensive independent study. Actively pursuing formal education in trauma-informed care and psychedelic integration to deepen and expand this work with others.
